The Morning Star of Prophecy Intro Astronomers estimate that the total number of known stars in the universe is seventy sextillion, or seventy thousand million, million, million, but one luminous body stands supreme above them all. I’ll be back in a moment with the prophetic perspective on “The Morning Star of Prophecy.” Message Hello, this is Cody Francis with Prophetic Perspectives. Stars have played an important role in human history from the earliest of times. Stars have been used to create calendars, guide a lost traveler home, and navigate the wide open oceans. Many cultures have worshipped various stars or their gods whom they thought resided in the stars. Visible stars in close proximity were grouped into convenient constellations such as a big dipper, a hunter, a cross, a bear, et cetera. For millennia man has looked up into the night sky and pondered the beauty and amazement of it all. It is estimated that around 3,000 stars are visible with the naked eye at a given point, but the number of actual stars in the sky keeps growing the more and more luminous bodies and galaxies are discovered. There is one luminous object in the sky that has been especially captivating throughout the years. It is actually not a star but a planet, but as it glimmers at dawn or dusk it is the most luminous object in the night sky apart from the moon. It is the planet Venus, frequently referred to as the morning or evening star depending on what time of year it is and thus when it is visible.
