Coming World Blackout Intro August 14, 2003, a day many on the east coast will never forget. New York City and millions of others shut down from the largest Blackout in North America. It was the largest blackout in North America affecting 50 million people in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio and Ontario. Major cities came to a screeching halt with subways, gas stations, traffic lights all out of commission. Some water systems delivered contaminated water. Businesses shut down. Both the United Nations and Wall Street were forced to shut down, along with many airports. Life was drastically altered. In fact, people in New York City could see the Milky Way for perhaps the first time. It has been estimated that power outage losses were around 6 billion USD. All from the neglect and failure of one power generating plant in Ohio. What major consequences there can be from one apparently minor failure. What would happen if a blackout took place that affected the entire world? According to Bible prophecy, a worldwide blackout is just on the horizon. When will this blackout take place? What will happen during this blackout and what will be the result of this blackout? Let us come to the Lord in prayer as we consider “The Coming World Blackout.” Outline I.
