The Seal of the Creator

Intro

It was the first US trail to be broadcast on national radio and the first on the scene coverage of a criminal trial. An airstrip was prepared especially for the event. 165,000 words were sent out by telegraphers. How does this major historical trial affect us today? I’ll be back in a moment with the prophetic perspective on the battle of Creation.

Message

Hello, this is Cody Francis with Prophetic Perspectives. That famous trial was none other than the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial. There were many factors at work. For some, the purpose was to put the town of Dayton, TN in the public spotlight. For others they were attempting to defend traditional values that they held dear. For the other side it was promoting their views of civil liberties. The passions and drama were high and media coverage profuse. In the outcome John T. Scopes the teacher volunteering to be tried for teach evolution was convicted, but the case was eventually thrown out on a technicality. It was one of the first nationwide battles between creation and evolution, but the battles are still raging today. In 2005, a Pennsylvania judge ruled that the belief of “intelligent design” which questions evolution is a religious belief and a violation of the 1st amendment to teach in science classes, but the Kansas board of education voted that students should study the doubts about the modern Darwinian theory. The passion and drama of the Scopes Monkey Trial is far from over, but still being waged in our country today. What does the Bible say about this debate? Is creation important to the rest of the Bible? Can a Christian believe in the Bible and evolution? Does prophecy sound a warning cry to a generation doubting the Biblical creation account? Today, I would like to turn to prophecy to study this controversial subject as we look at “The Seal of the Creator.”
