What is happening? A mother and daughter shot to death while hiking in tranquil nature. Four stabbed to death in their own home. Six people shot at the Jewish Federation office. Where is our world headed? I’ll be back in a moment with the prophetic perspective on Why Our Streets are Unsafe.

Hello, this is Cody Francis with Prophetic Perspectives. All three of these incidents took place in one month this July in Seattle. Seattle is not alone. In the FBI’s uniform crime reports for 2005, violent crime increased 2.5% from the previous year. Murder rates were up by 4.8% and in cities from 50k-250k they were up by over 12%. Approximately 13 million people are victims of crime every year with about 1.5 million being victims of violent crime. After a violent incident at a swimming pool in San Bernardino, CA, lifeguards refused to work until they were promised security. What is going on? We are now afraid to walk the streets at night, afraid to let our children play outside in their own yards. From Seattle, to Los Angeles, to London, to Cairo to Hong Kong the streets are unsafe. We have become so accustomed to our unsafe streets that we hardly stop to question, but why are our streets unsafe? Does Bible prophecy reveal why our streets are unsafe? Does it give us an answer? Today we will turn to this question affecting each and every one of us, Why Our Streets are Unsafe.

I.         Devil has launched an all out attack upon God’s Law

A.      Studied what a blessing loving obedience to God’s Law is

1.        For our good always – Deut. 6:24, 25

2.        Not burdensome – 1 John 5:3

3.        Perfect – Ps. 19:7

4.        Holy, just, good – Rom. 7:12

5.        Stands fast forever – Ps. 111:7, 8

6.        Jesus kept – John 15:10

7.        Jesus asks us to keep – John 14:15

8.        It is a law of liberty – James 2:12

9.        We will be judged by this great law – James 2:10

B.       Devil launched a massive assault against

1.        Intend to change times & law – Dan. 7:25

2.        Entices break through passing pleasures of sin

3.        No absolutes: doesn’t matter what you do

4.        Don’t need to keep!

5.        Result morality: nose dive

II.       Devil even using religious tactics

1.        Uses religious leaders – Pharisees; 2 Cor. 11:13-15

2.        Quotes Bible verses – Matt. 4:6; 2 Pet. 3:16

3.        Need to understand some of the Devils attacks

B.       Since under grace, don’t need to keep?

1.        Sin = lawlessness – 1 John 3:4

2.        God forbid sin under grace – Rom. 6:1, 2, 14, 15

3.        Preacher/gospel/Savior/sin/Law

C.       Did Jesus fulfill Law, doing away with it?

1.        Not one jot or title – Matt. 5:17, 18

2.        Fulfill all righteousness – Matt. 3:15

3.        Fulfill marriage vow; do away w/?

D.      Did Jesus nail the Law to the cross?

1.        Would not alter – Luke 16:17; Ps. 89:34

2.        Sins & penalty nailed cross; ceremonies nailed

E.       Is the Law still important under the new covenant?

F.       Can anyone keep the Law anyway?
